Your Group Ride is happy to announce the return of Crazy Joe Cross, just as crazy but without the Joe.
Racing will begin at 6pm on Tuesday September 15th in the field just South of Fossil Ridge High School (NOT at Fossil Creek Park where Joe Sap. ran it) and run every Tuesday in September (15th, 22nd, and 29th).   We’ve set up a great course on the on the High School cross country course.  We’ve got barriers, we’ve got creek crossings, we’ve got run-ups, we’ve got dirt and we’ve got pavement.   We’ve got it all, cept tons of elevation gain and beer. Turns out they don’t allow alcohol on high school campuses anymore.
Plan on running hot laps until it gets dark or some sort of winner is declared.
Course layout by Troy Heithhecker. Â 2nd place at the 2004 Collegiate National Cyclocross Championships.

This weeks Crazy Joe Cross was awesome. Roughly 35 people showed up to duke it out in the near perfect cross conditions. A light rain fell during the first few laps leaving the course nice and tacky.
Crazy Joe himself showed up and certifed the race as being bonkers.
Troy Heithecker took the win again, on a real cross bike this time. Crazy Joe was 2nd and Logan Von Bokel was third.
The first Crazy Joe Cross at the Fossil Ridge Express went off hitchless last night. We had about twenty people show up to throw on the 1.5 mile course, with big numbers coming from Echelon Health and the Black Sheep Jr. Cycling Team. After a few easy laps to get to know the course we did 6 hot laps. Troy Heithecker and Ben Ollett went 1st and 3rd on single speeds. Troys bike may or may not have been stolen from a homeless guy. The estimated value of his hodgepodge cross rig was zero dollars. Both were running 44x18 gears.
Feedback on the course is welcome on the forum and if you have pictures from the ride shoot me an email.
