Course Records with Strava

stravaWith so many road and mountain courses in and near Fort Collins, there's no perfect way to track who's the fastest but the Strava gps website works pretty well. I've uploaded many of the most popular segments and rides into the YGR Course Records pages, both road and mountain (please note the menu tab at the top of the page).

There are a couple things that should be noted:

A) There's no way to note what 'records' were set during races (Rist) or group rides (Carter Switchbacks).

B) You, of course, have to have a gps unit or smart phone with Strava to record a route.

C) I noticed a couple records that looked suspicious due to the average speed. I think they gave the KOM to a guy going down hill rather than up. Be sure to FLAG these rides if you see this.  I already flagged a few of them.  You can only flag the segment if you have ridden it but you can flag a whole ride if it looks wonky.

D) Of course it's not retroactive.  Believe it or not, there were faster people before us.

I'm in the process of adding more routes. If you see something that has been recorded that isn't there, let me know. If you see something that isn't there and isn't recorded, record it and let me know and I'll get it up there.

If you're not on Strava yet, take my word for it, it's a great way to add a lil somethin' somethin' to your training.

Check it out and let me know what you think.
