It's true....Fort Collins has a track scene: track racing, a Collegiate Track National Champion, and one day we might even have a track!
Tim Anderson has been working hard to raise funds and awareness for a Old Town Track right here in Fort Collins:Â fcvelodrome.org
Dan Lionberg, and the rest of the CSU Rams, kicked ass at the 2008 Collegiate Track National Championships down in the Springs. Dan won the overall which makes him the National Champion. As a team, the CSU Rams took the Silver in the omnium.

The CSU Track team is killing it in T Town at the Collegiate Track National Championships. They are sitting in an amazing 3rd place after the first day of racing. Pretty impressive for a rag tag team that has to drive three hours each way to get to the track in Colorado Springs.

Hey team!
No Internet so I have to send this from my phone so please excuse any
spelling errors and short message
We had the men’s 4k and women 3k pursuit this morning. Fuzzy thru down
a kickass time for 10th, I came in 20th and garrison came in 22nd.
Brenna impressed with a 13th.
Kilo tonight for the guys. Gary was in 1st with 6 riders to go but
sadly they were very fast and he was bumped down to 4th. Still, first
nationals podium! We were psyched. Fuzzy and I ended up in 14th and
16th. Brenna came in 20th in the 500m.
As of right now we are sitting in an incredible 3rd place in the team
competition even with only one girl. Tomorrow we so sprints (team and
I individual)

The final race of the 6 Day Races at the Oval will be held this Sunday. I would like to encourage racers,volunteers and spectators to come out in full force this week. As it stands, this is the only real way to show our support for race director and friend Tim Anderson. Tim has begun down the long road to recovery at Craig Hospital in Denver and he needs our support. In recent years the idea of having a velodrome in Fort Collins has been the number one thing on Tims mind. He has made great strides in making that dream a reality, lets show Tim and the community that dream is still very possible. Very few things would help his morale more then to have record setting attendance at his 6 day Races.
